This should be your mantra when it comes to meditation. If you want it badly enough and you are willing to pay the price, you will attain your goal. Most people won’t pay the price. That is because they don’t want to put in the work that is required. If you don’t put in the work how can you expect to get the reward? It will require countless hours of practice, long periods when you don’t see any progress, and many obstacles along the way.
Below are 7 things that I have learned after nearly two decades of meditation:
1. Don’t give up.
2. Focus on doing your best each time you meditate.
3. Have faith that it will all work out.
4. Have a sense of humor.
5. Have fun.
6. Keep a positive attitude.
7. Put a smile on your face even if you don’t feel like it.
Stick with meditation and you will profoundly attract more peace and happiness in your life.
Below is a poem that I find helpful when you are facing challenges in your life.
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
