Writing can help you meditate better

If you have difficulty slowing down your thoughts during meditation it might be helpful to write down what is on your mind prior to starting to meditate. The purpose of writing is to eliminate the mental chatter that goes on in our minds. It is not so much what you write, as the ritual of writing that frees up the mind.

I also believe it is an excellent idea to keep a journal to jog down your positive thoughts, inspirations and happy moments in life. When you have stressful life situations, you can refer back to your journal and be uplifted by it. When you write, you are storing personal power. That is because your words have power. When you are feeling stressed or unhappy, you can access this personal power by reading your journal entries.

Below is a nice video talking about keeping a journal for reducing stress in your life.
